You're probably wondering why on earth would I want a nose grown on the side of my forehead. But as the saying goes everything happens for a reason, health reasons to be exact, this man from China named Xiaolian has successfully completed an operation where in a nose was surgically implanted on his forehead.
According to a report by Daily Mail from August of last year, the then 22 year-old Chinese damaged his nose during a freak traffic accident. Xiaolian didn't seek medical treatment immediately after the said accident thus resulting into a pretty bad nasal infection and facial deformity making his nose useless.
The man had to undergo reconstructive plastic surgery known a flap prefabrication. Surgeons at a Chinese hospital at Fuzhou, Fujian had to take some cartilage tissue from Xiaolian's ribs then shape it into a nose and implant it to the side of his forehead for it to grow.
Since then tissue place on his forehead had grown into fully functional nose, and now the surgeons are now preparing to transfer it back to its natural position within a month.
This maybe an odd way to save a man's nose but it works flawlessly so why not we've already seen a man grow a nose from his forearm before.
